"In January 2003, I could not run from my office to my car in a rain shower. My doctor insisted that take steps to lose weight as I was in the initial stages of diabetes. I was given the option of losing weight or prescription medication to try to slow the onset of diabetes. In June 2004, I completed my first Triathlon which included running three miles. Now that I have transformed myself there are many things that I want to accomplish. I want to through-hike the entire Appalachian Trail – all 2000 miles of it."
